This project is about turning a painful experience into something positive.

ALL money raised from these hoodies is going to charities that support people living with vision loss and rare eye conditions—because I know firsthand how terrifying it is to lose your sight.

At 15, during the lead-up to my exams, my vision suddenly began to blur. I’d been studying seven hours a day, so at first I thought it was just eye strain. But within days, I was hallucinating animals during my mock exams and could barely see. After an emergency eye scan, doctors discovered a bleed and severe pressure behind my eye—but no one could explain why.

Eventually, I was diagnosed with ocular toxoplasmosis—a rare eye infection caused by a common parasite that most people carry unknowingly. It usually stays dormant, but due to stress and a lowered immune system, it had attacked my retina.

I was put on aggressive antibiotics and steroids. The medication saved my vision, but the side effects were brutal—insomnia, intense hunger, swelling. I felt unrecognisable. Even now, I take antibiotics every other day to stop the parasite from flaring up and causing further damage.

During the worst moments, I made a promise to myself: if I ever got my sight back, I’d do something to help others facing the same fear and uncertainty.

This is that something. Every hoodie sold helps fund support services, research, and resources for people affected by visual impairment.
